Week 6 Cheryl is always there....

This past weekend we attended the St Louis Working Woman’s Show in St Louis.  We didn’t have a booth but we attended the show as spectators.  My husband and I did wear our Cheryl’s shirts and took plenty of business cards just in case.

The parking was terrible.  The venue they used really just didn’t have enough parking for the great turnout they had on Saturday.  We didn’t know what to expect so we just bought our tickets and walked in the closest door we could find.  The crowds were amazing, people moving all about in what seemed like just roaming lines.

First booth we stopped at was the Harley Davidson Booth.  Yes this was just for Mike.  He is a “Biker” and we love going for rides.  He insisted I get up on the display bike so he could get a photo of me!  LOL

While I was entering the raffle to win the Bike, Mike was chatting with the Harley Rep about our company.  Cheryl always directs me exactly where I need to go it seems.  The reps Girlfriend had just had Cancer surgery for a lump in her breast and cancer in one of her lungs.  It never stops amazing me how Cheryl is always with me.  I chatted with the man for a few more minutes explained my own encounters with cancer and breast surgery.  You could tell he loved his Girlfriend very much and was worried about her.  I gave him my number and told him to have his GF call me, sometimes just talking to someone that has gone through it and understands is a great help.   Mike and I walked on knowing the rest of the show was going to be just as amazing.

Production begins back at our Factory March 1.  Mike has his trip all planned and will be bringing back Production Samples that we can start showing to potential Buyers and finally get moving.

He has also finalized the details for Debbie Barrett’s Custom Bra we are having made.  It will be finished when he gets to the factory and in April we will make arrangements to go visit Debbie and Deliver it in Person!  I can’t wait to finally meet her in person after the phone calls and emails it will be nice to give her a big hug!

Week 5 and the St Louis Working Women's Survival Show

Last week was a huge deal for us at Cheryl's Bras. The 2/14 blog has had 190 readers and on Cheryl's birthday we picked up over 25 more Twitter followers in one day reaching our birthday goal of 200. Celebrities, Breast Cancer organizations, Country Western Singers and people from all around the world Re-tweeted our Birthday wishes and we went well over 200.

I had another appointment this week with my Reconstruction Surgeon. All is going well and looks like my final surgery will be in April. Best news is I showed her our prototype bras and she thought they were amazing! She is even interested in carrying them in her small boutique at her office. She said they would be perfect for a Charity Organization she works with that does surgeries for deserving women.

Chinese New Year celebrations have come to a close and our Asian partners have returned back to work. Mike has finalized his next China trip and will be at the factory mid March. All our final details will be solved and we will be ready to start production. Our company has decided to focus on a few primary customers that would have the ability to get our Bras to as many women as possible at one time.

Look for me this weekend at the St. Louis Working Woman's show in St. Charles, Missouri! I'll be wearing one of our bras. If you ask nice I might show it to you!

Always remember Make the Most of Your Dash.... Love you All.....Adrienne

Extra Special Valentine's Day

What a perfect day for my beautiful sister to be born, Valentine’s Day.  Happy Birthday sis! I hope you’re celebrating in Heaven with all of our family and loved ones.  It’s been six years since you passed and I still go to pick up the phone and sing you our traditional “Happy Birthday to you song”, that you so graciously laughed at, every year.

On the radio show I did last week I referred to a poem that I believe you lived by, so this year sis I’m sending you this poem instead of our happy birthday song, I hope you don’t mind.

The Dash

by Linda Ellis copyright 1996

I read of a man who stood to speak
at the funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates on her tombstone,
from the beginning…to the end.

He noted that first came the date of her birth
and spoke of the following date with tears,
but he said what mattered most of all
was the dash between those years.

For that dash represents all the time
that she spent alive on earth.
And now only those who loved her
know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not, how much we own,
the cars…the house…the cash.
What matters is how we live and love
and how we spend our dash.

So, think about this long and hard.
Are there things you’d like to change?
For you never know how much time is left
that can still be rearranged.

If we could just slow down enough
to consider what’s true and real
and always try to understand
the way other people feel.

And be less quick to anger
and show appreciation more
and love the people in our lives
like we’ve never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect
and more often wear a smile,
remembering that this special dash
might only last a little while.

So, when your eulogy is being read,
with your life’s actions to rehash…
would you be proud of the things they say
about how you spent YOUR dash?

This poem is so perfect for you! It’s almost like the author was writing it about you. Thank you Cheryl Ann for teaching me that everyday has a purpose and that how I treat others is a reflection of me. I love you and miss you every day.  Happy Birthday Sis!

For the week of your birthday, Cheryl’s bras has tried to reach out to as many people as we could through all forms of social media.

It’s been a busy week of planning, our shirts came in with the Cheryl’s logo on them, we registered to go the Working Woman’s Survival Show and we continue to look for the perfect partner to get our bra’s distributed throughout the country. We won’t stop till we get a “yes”.

Remember to make the most of your “dash”…….with much love and appreciation…………Adrienne

Week 3 and lots been going on...

What a week

Well it’s been quite a week here at Cheryl’s…. We have had quite a few unexpected major events!

http://www.change.org/petitions/victoria-s-secret-make-survivor-bras-to-help-breast-cancer-survivors-feel-beautiful

I am sure you have all been keeping track of the wonderful woman who has started a petition for VS to start handling Mastectomy bras.  You have all already read how they turned us down siting that “Specialty Bras” just aren’t what they carry.  These two ladies took time out of their schedules and made a trip up to visit with VS.

Well my amazing Husband tracked down Allana Maiden and her wonderful Mother Debbie Barett.  I spoke to Debbie for a time on Tuesday over the phone.  I told her all about Cheryl and the bras we have designed.  She was thrilled!  My husband contacted her again by email and we have all her details and sizes and will be making one of our bras just for her!
Allana and Debbie

Then!  I am going to be a guest on the Cancer Warrior Podcast/Radio Show!  She tapes the show tomorrow and plays on Wednesday Mornings.

Mel Majors

Mel is a Cancer survivor herself  and I am looking forward to being on her Show!
When it gets put up on iTunes I will make sure to let everyone know!!!  I’ll blog next week on how it went!
Well that’s this week…..remember do what you can with what you’re given….Love Adrienne
